These dog Radio Fence systems specialize in different areas of containment and/or training options. "Contain N Train" Systems utilize e-Radio Fence wiring (which can be buried and/or above ground), and a handheld Transmitter to "instantly" control certain behavior patterns. Some transmitters control 1 dog collar/receiver, other transmitters can train and operate multiple dog training collars.

Contain N ZONES™ systems will setup containment areas up to the stated Radio Fence Range, as well as control zones (out-of-bounds or keep-away areas) with the use of strategically placed radio transmitters to cover sectioned areas from 2' to 12'. Zone coverage areas can be increased with additional ZONES™ radio transmitters.

WIRED SYSTEMS

Pet dog Radio Fence Systems are like electronic Radio Fences; they are designed to keep your dog within defined boundaries. Unlike wooden or metal Radio Fences, dogs can't dig their way under electronic Radio Fences, nor can they escape through holes and missing boards. With pet dog e-Radio Fence systems, YOU design, lay out, and control the wire boundary. The wire acts like an antenna, picking up signals from the transmitter and sending them to your dog's receiver/collar. When your dog approaches a boundary, it receives a warning signal (beep). If it keeps going, and gets too close to the boundary, your dog receives a correction (static shock). Soon your dog will know the difference between "safe areas" and "out of bounds."

DEFINITIONS

Transmitter

The transmitter is an electronic device which is connected to house power (110V). It emits a radio frequency signal through a wire, usually buried in the ground. When the receiver antenna on the dog collar gets close enough to the wire to pick up the signal the system tells the collar to give the dog a correction, either a tone or a static shock.

Collar Receiver

The receiver is an electronic device attached to the dog's collar, or integrated into it. Most receivers are approx: 2 = inches wide by 1 > inches high by 1 = inches deep and weigh anywhere from 2 to 6 ounces depending upon function and manufacturer. The Microline receivers are approx: 1 7/8 inches wide by 7/8 inches high by 7/8 inches deep. This makes them a better choice for smaller dogs. Most systems are recommended for dogs over 15 lbs. The RF-3004W is recommended for dogs over 5 lbs. The decision to use these systems on small dogs depends upon the owner's preferences and needs.

Receiver Perfect Fit

The Innotek Premium Ultra Systems IUC-4100, IUC-4200, IUC-5100, and IUC-5200 collars sense the fit and automatically let you know if the collar is fitted correctly to your dog.

Receiver Ready Test

Collars which come with the IUC-4100, IUC-4200, IUC-5100, and IUC-5200 are equipped with The Innotek Ready Test feature. Ready Test collars will automatically perform a self diagnostic and report that the collar is functioning properly (or not).

Rechargeable

Many electric Radio Fence systems offer rechargeable batteries in the receiver and/or the transmitter. The best rechargeable batteries are Lithium Ion. Lithium Ion batteries last longer, and charge more quickly than any other rechargeable battery available. Lithium Ion Batteries are only available from Innotek in the IUC-4100, IUC-4200, IUC-5100, and IUC-5200 systems. The SD-2100 and SD-2200, use Nickel Metal Hydride batteries (NiMH). Rechargeable systems come with their own battery chargers. The savings in time and money over replaceable batteries make rechargeable systems a popular choice. Rechargeable battery receivers can be made waterproof. Replaceable battery receivers are water resistant, at best.

Waterproof Collar Receiver

Waterproof means that the collar receiver can be submerged in water and will not be damaged. Water resistant means that the collar will not be damaged if exposed to rain or snow, but it should not be submerged.

Potted Collar Receivers

Potting is a method of protecting the internal electronic components of the receiver on the dog's collar. This is accomplished by injecting a soft foam into the receiver during assembly. The foam hardens, covering and "potting" the delicate internal components.

Boundary Kit

The Radio Fence line boundary kit is 500 ft. of insulated wire and a set of 50 flags. Most systems come with 500 ft. of wire and 50 flags. Additional Radio Fence kits are available for larger yards. The wire is used to create the virtual eRadio Fence. The flags are used to give the pets a visual reference as to the limits of their containment area. As training progresses the flags can be slowly eliminated as the dog learns where the boundaries are.

FastTrac™ Wire

This is an Innotek trade mark for double twisted wire which is used with the boundary wire to create "gates" or no correction zones in a wired radio Radio Fence system. This is useful if the eRadio Fence must cross the doorway to the house or other buildings or areas where the dog should be able to pass without correction.

Run Thru Prevention

All the Innotek models, the IUC-4100, IUC-4200, IUC-5100, IUC-5200, SD-2000, SD-2100 and SD-2200, SD-3100, have Run Thru Prevention. The system senses if the dog continues toward the barrier after the initial correction and will give progressively stronger and longer correction, even if the dog goes outside the boundary.

Maximum Coverage

The maximum coverage of an electronic dog Radio Fence system is the largest perimeter that the system can manage. The SD-2000 and the SD-3000 can cover a maximum of 5 acres. Most of the other systems can cover up to 25 acres. All the wired systems come with 500 feet of wire, enough to do just under = acre.

24/7 Protection

24/7 Battery Back Up protection is available on the IUC-4100, IUC-4200, IUC-5100, IUC-5200, SD-2100 and SD-2200. The transmitter has auxiliary AA batteries which can operate the system for up to 40 hours in the event of a power outage.

Lightning Protection

Internal lightning protection is provided by a breaker inside the Radio Fence control transmitter that is blown if the outside wire is struck by lightning, thereby protecting your household wiring. Innotek Radio Fence systems all have an internal lightning protection. In the vast majority of cases, the transmitter will be destroyed if struck by lightning. For maximum protection use an additional external lightning protector. Lightning strikes are not covered by the manufacturer's warranty.

External Lightning Protector

This is a separate unit which protects the transmitter from damage if the system is struck by lightning. Some systems include them, for others they can be purchased separately. It is recommended for all systems which are installed in high lightning parts of the country.

Warranty

Most manufacturer warranties are one year full warranty and Limited Lifetime warranty on parts. Some of the Innotek Sport Collars have a 3 year full warranty. The warranty on each system is listed on the comparison chart.

FCC Approved

All dog Radio Fence Systems operate on a citizen's band wavelength and are required to be to be FCC approved. All Innotek and PetSafe systems are FCC approved.

Cats

Dog dog Radio Fence systems can be used for cats; however, there are two major considerations, size of the collar and degree of static correction. Most systems like the RF-3005V and theSD-2000 have collar receivers over 2" long and 1" high and are simply too large for cats. In addition, the correction level of systems designed for larger dogs are too strong for cats. The RF-3006V, SD-2100 and SD-2200 offer lower correction levels. The SD-2100 and SD-2200 have small collar receivers, low initial correction levels and slowly increase the correction level as the dog or cat gets closer to the boundary.

Innotek Ultra-Smart Premium dog Radio Fence Systems

IUC-4100: The IUC-4100 is by far the most advanced system made, even compared to "professionally installed systems". It also has the most advanced safety features of any system on the market. The collar is lighter weight and contoured to fit the neck. The receiver is integrated into the collar instead of hanging off of it.. The collar is waterproof and the receiver operates on a rechargeable long lasting Lithium Ion battery. This battery recharges in 1-2 hours using the charger which comes with the system. Innotek Smart Dog Deluxe dog Radio Fence Systems.

SD-2100: This was the most advanced dog Radio Fence system on the market until the introduction of the IUC-4100. It is still high quality system and is a better choice for smaller dogs. The SD-2100 uses the microline collar and offers correction levels mild enough for a 15 Lb dog. It does provide higher corrections levels suitable for even a 220 lb dog, if needed. The microline collars are completely sealed so they are truly waterproof. The collars also feature potted receivers. This system includes progressive correction including Run Thru Prevention. Its maximum correction levels are higher than that of any other system. The battery in the receiver is rechargeable. The savings, as compared to replaceable batteries makes this system the most cost effective over the life of the system. The SD-2100 also offers field adjustment so you determine how close the dog can get to the boundary before getting a correction, tone and / or light alerts for collar and Radio Fence condition and 24/7 battery back up. Dogtra EF-3000 dog Radio Fence System

The Dogtra system is rechargeable and comes with a waterproof a collar/receiver The standard collar is 24" although a 32" collar is available . The system has run-through protection. Correction gets progressively stronger as dog approaches boundary. There are 5 adjustable correction levels on the collar. Wire / Line Break Indicator by way of a light on the transmitter alerts you to a line break, should it occur. Line breakage is most often a result of using inferior non burial approved wire. Dogtra is the only manufacturer to offer upgraded 18 gauge wire. Safety Shut Off prevents unnecessarily long exposure to a corrective stimulation. After shut off the unit will reactivate automatically. Early Warning Vibration-Alerts your dog he has is about to get corrected if he doesn't go back. This system is expandable to three dogs.

Basic dog Radio Fence Systems

SD-2000: This system provides the basic functions of an electronic dog Radio Fence system at a budget price. It uses the larger collar attached receiver system and is best for dogs over 20 lbs. It has the standard Innotek features including Run Thru Prevention and progressive correction. The collar receiver uses standard size replaceable batteries. This system can be expanded to three dogs.

RF-3004W: The PetSafe Standard Radio Radio Fence-3004W is designed for containing dogs 5 pounds-40lbs on properties up to 25 acres. This PetSafe dog Radio Fence System comes with an Ultralight basic dog Radio Fence collar that has (only) one level of correction and is suitable for easy to train dogs. The receiver uses a proprietary replaceable battery which is available through MightyPets.com. This system is recommended for dogs from 5 to 40 lbs. with a fairly mild temperament. This system can be expanded to three dogs.

RF-3006W: The PetSafe Standard Radio Radio Fence-3006W is designed for containing dogs 5 pounds-75lbs and of any temperament on properties up to 25 acres. This PetSafe dog Radio Fence System comes with a Deluxe Ultralight containment Collar which has 5 levels of correction to insure the right correction level for your dog. It features the PUL-275 Deluxe Ultra Light receiver, the smallest collar on the market. The receiver uses the PetSafe replaceable batteries, available through MightyPets.com. It has Receiver Fail-Safe. If your pet gets trapped in the correction zone, the receiver will shut down after 20 seconds to prevent over correction. For areas where lightning is a problem there is an optional lightning protection module. This system can be expanded to three dogs.

Basic Dog Radio Fence Systems - (continued)

RF-3005W: The PetSafe Standard Radio Radio Fence-3005W is designed for containing dogs 30lbs and up-especially good for Stubborn dogs and/or large dogs. on properties up to 25 acres. This PetSafe dog Radio Fence System comes with a Stubborn Dog dog Radio Fence Collar which has 5 levels of correction to customize the right level for your dog. The maximum correction level is 3 times higher than the RF-3006W model, yet not as high as the IUC-4100, IUC-4200, SD-2100 or the SD-2200. The collar uses standard replaceable batteries.

It is difficult to predict which dogs will be difficult to contain. Some of the largest dogs are the most timid when it comes to the static correction from a dog Radio Fence collar. It is probably best to start with a standard system. If your dog does not respond the Stubborn dog collar, PRF-275-19, can be purchased separately for use with the RF-3004W or the RF-3006W system. Less than 1% of dogs require the stubborn dog collar.

CONTAIN AND TRAIN SYSTEMS

Contain and Train systems are a combination of the virtual Radio Fence dog Radio Fence system and a remote training system. The same collar which keeps the dog inside the radio Radio Fence also allows the owner to give the dog corrections on demand with a remote control. The remote can be used to control behavior such as jumping, digging, chasing cats or cars or excessive barking. The remote trainer is a good way to teach good behavior such as coming when called, sit, stay, etc. The features of the most popular systems are explained below.

Basic Contain and Train Systems

PRF-300UW: This PetSafe Contain and Train system is available with any one of the 3 different PetSafe collar receivers; single correction level receiver, 5 level deluxe receiver, and the 5 level stubborn receiver. The remote transmitter and your dog can NOT leave the confines of the dog Radio Fence area (cannot go outside of the wire). The trainer has only one level of correction, or tone. You can only contain and train one dog. If you have multiple dogs and use the remote, all of your dogs will receive a correction.

ULTRA SMART PREMIUM CONTAIN AND ZONE SYSTEM

IUC-5200: This Innotek system is essentially the IUC-4200 dog Radio Fence system with the addition of a Zone transmitter. A zone transmitter is used inside the home to keep your dog away from sofas, chairs, rooms, counters, exit doors, trash, etc. All of the Innotek system collars in the, IUC-4100, IUC-4200, and IUC-5100 are compatible with the Innotek ZONES™. One Zone comes with the IUC-5200 and more Innotek ZONES™ can be added. The system can support any number of dogs with the addition of IUC-4225 collars.

Virtual Radio Fence Citronella Spray dog Radio Fence System

The Virtual Radio Fence training system has 3 components: an emitter, a spray receiver collar and an antenna (buried wire around established perimeter). The emitter is plugged into a regular household 120 V AC power outlet. It generates a low frequency radio signal that is transmitted through the buried antenna. As your pet approaches the buried antenna, the spray receiver collar will pick up the low frequency signal. The collar will at first emit a warning beeping sound to let your animal know it has reached the limit. Should he continue on, he will then receive a brisk spray of citronella.

Wireless Dog Radio Fence

The PetSafe Instant Radio Fence - PIF-300 uses a constant radio signal to create a "stay zone". If your dog leaves the stay zone, it receives a warning tone first, if he continues, one second later he will get a correction and if he continues to leave the correction gets progressively stronger . The initial level of correction is adjustable on the collar. The PetSafe PIF-300 Wireless Dog Radio Fence has an Automatic Safety Shut Off after 27 seconds. Boundary ranges are set instantly with the dial on the transmitter. The Wireless Dog Radio Fence - PIF-300 has a range of 90 ft. The Petsafe PIF-300 can contain a dog in a 180 ft. diameter area. This Wireless Dog Radio Fence can be expanded to additional dogs as required. The Petsafe PIF-300 Wireless Dog Radio Fence is recommended for dogs 15 lbs and up.
