How Much Boundary Wire Will I Need for my Containment System?

All Containment Systems come standard with 500 feet of #20 gauge boundary wire and 100' of twisted wire. This will cover 1/4-1/2 acre of coverage. For larger yards, ordering extra Boundary Kits will include everything you need to expand the coverage area.

1 Boundary Kit includes 500 feet of wire, 50 marker flags and two wire nuts.
Use the Option menu to upgrade to the heavier duty #18 Gauge Wire.

Typical Yard Wiring Diagram for Inground Radio Pet Containment Fence
Use the twisted wire (illustrated above) to create smaller zoned areas within the larger outside perimeter. One single transmitter will cover all these areas!

Typical Yard Wiring Layout

The black line in this diagram is the wired zone, and the yellow lines represent the twisted wire sections connecting the transmitter to the wired perimeter. The twisted wires cancel out the signal, allowing your pet to pass over those areas.

To pass the containment wire over objects like your driveway, you can cut a thin 1/4" groove in the concrete or asphalt, laying the wire in the groove, then sealing it with the appropriate material. Or you can pass it under objects using small diameter plastic tubing.
